Truth, loyalty, honor, discipline, faith, and righteousness -all perfectly balanced like the katana are the qualities of the man I hope my son will be. Didn't think it was legit, it was it came in less time than it was supposed to about a week. I opened it up and I sliced my finger open by accident so yes it does function correctly. Handle with caution if you choose to buy other than that I recommend buying if you want a sword.
