This is a gift so I did not do anything more than check color and and over all construction. Did not remove plastic wrap. Looks good. Gave 4 stars because you did not send me an e-mail saying it was shipped so it sat at the front door for days because I was gone.

The Katana came well wrapped. The BLADE is very sharp the quality is great!! A lot better than I expected. After ready the reviews I was a little suspect but the quality is very good for a Katana I paid less the $300 with an additional Discount

Gave this to my son for his high school graduation and he was thrilled. It is beautiful! He has wanted a katana for many years. I thought the symbolism was perfect for him as he finished high school and is moving into adulthood. Didn't think it was legit, it was it came in less time than it was supposed to about a week. I opened it up and I sliced my finger open by accident so yes it does function correctly. Handle with caution if you choose to buy other than that I recommend buying if you want a sword.

Everything is good and tight but the bottom of the handle is a little loose and the blade could be a little sharper, but overall I like it a lot and you get what you pay for so get something in mind for yourself if you want something better, but it's a different sword than the katana and shorter movements or easier to move. The handle is good and tight but there is a little gap on one side of the handle that looks rushed to be finished and also the bottom butt of the handle is loose. Over all I think it's great for what it's worth

Decent quality for its price, beautiful to look at. Feels solid, all the pieces are firmly attached and no rattle. The blade is a bit on the heavy side, straight and sharp. The scabbard is beautiful and holds the sword tight.
